Positives-Beautiful location. The reception staff were warm and welcoming. The Dinner was great though the serving size was small and expensive (like everything in Norway). Great breakfast. Staff were all attentive. The communal lounge area by the fire cozy.
Negatives-the constant door slamming from guests drives you mad and some made the whole room vibrate and shake significantly. Common areas from, dark and oppressive. Our “suite” was disappointing. It overlooked a carpark. The furnishings are cheap and minimal and to be honest, In need of some serious TLC. No tea or coffee in the room, no iron, no soap in the bathroom. We didn’t expect luxury but just a bit of thought could make this hotel better with minimal expense
I’ve been in this hotel in July and must say it was a great experience! They have old style and modern rooms to offer and the swimming pool and sauna was very clean.
Bring your swimsuits cause they dont sell it there.
It gives the real norwegian vibes with its view and architecture. The staff provided us everything they can and were super friendly.
We booked this hotel in June. Paid and got the booking confirmation. Today, 1 week before our stay and while we are already in Norway the booking was cancelled due to “overbooking”. Shame! How is it even possible in 2023 that a hotel is that bad organised and unprofessional. Definitely don’t book this hotel if you have a fixed travel route planned or you might as well run into a bad surprise during holiday.
Just received a reminder for missing payment + fee.
WHY don't you do the payment at my credit card as given in the online booking? Now I need to pay fee for missing payment + I need to find out how to pay an invoice without IBAN/SWIFT informations...
On top of that I was 20 mins delayed in my further travel as the door to my room was not able to unlock.. be aware of no people in the reception and only self service....
We arrived on a stormy, rainy day to find that the parking options are sparse and there is no one at the reception: it was a virtual reception, offering a screen for video call which took them a very long time to answer. No human service whatsoever, maybe because of Covid-19 regulations. The room we got was spacious but very cold (the heating did not work properly) and the beds were uncomfortable. The shower reminded me of boot-camp conditions. Breakfast was minimal but okay. All in all, the place did not meet my expectations (which were not high to begin with). Good thing we stayed for one night only and not booked more in advance.
It’s my first time in Norway and I love the scenery. This hotel, however, could be better. Rooms are small and old. There is no room service. Breakfast is really good, but the staff is not very service oriented and some of them even unfriendly (rolling their eyes e.g.). I don’t think that I will come back here.
This is a great little hotel situated right at the entrance to Rondane National Park. It is a magical place, winter, summer, spring or fall. Highly recommended for travellers who are genuinely interested in experiencing Norwegian nature at its peak, both literally and figuratively speaking, whether by hiking or skiing. We only got to stay for a couple of days this time, but we will be back for sure. The hotel is great for a wedding or other celebrations, they have a good sized swimmingpool and sauna, as well as a spa. The food and drink was excellent, and the staff were helpful and friendly. The lobby area is large and comfortable. They are renovating the rooms one by one, and ours was a little dated, but by all means quite adequate and clean. The regular prices seem fair, by Norwegian standards.
Great for families or couples. Room 301 was recently refurbished and had an amazing view over the mountains! Very nice bed, delicious breakfast and dinner was incredibly good! …
